FAST Returns to Atomic Saturday October 3rd
The Ti22 Performance FAST on Dirt winged 410 sprint cars will return to Atomic Speedway this Saturday. Defending track champion and FAST tour champion, Cole Duncan, is the only repeat winner in the tour's 7 events. The Lockbourne, Ohio sprint car pilot won $10,000 in the Atomic Blast less than 2 weeks ago and also won the August 22nd event.
Tyler Gunn, fresh off a 5th place finish against a stacked field at Fremont Speedway, has a comfortable lead in the tour standings. The versatile Napoleon, Ohio throttle pusher ran 4th in the Atomic Blast and currently sits 5th in the BOSS wingless point standings. Milford, Ohio's Cody Gardner sits second in points with Newark. Ohio's Jordan Harble in third. Both drivers are still within striking distance of the point lead with 4 events remaining.
Saturday's race at Atomic Speedway will see an earlier start time as fall has arrived. Pit gates will open at 1 pm with general admission gates opening at 2. Hot laps will begin at 4 pm. Joining FAST will be the UMP late models and UMP modifieds for their Fall Nationals. Sport modifieds are also on the card. Adult general admission is $22 with seniors and veterans $20. Kids 10 and under are admitted free. Pit passes will be $35.
For FAST teams, mufflers are NOT required at Atomic. Cars must be on 4 corner Hoosier tires. The left rear must be the H series tire and the right rear can be H, Medium or W18. You do NOT have to run the same right rear all night. Wings must be flat top with a maximum 2" wicker bill. The top 3 finishers will weigh after the feature and must weigh 1400 pounds with driver, post race. Drivers will draw into heat race groups and single car qualify against your heat. We will start 20 cars in the main event. If there are over 30 cars entered, we will start 22 and if there are over 40 cars entered, we will start 24.
Saturday's main event payout will be: 3000, 1500, 1000, 700, 600, 550, 500, 475, 450, 425, 400, 380, 360, 340, 320, 300, 300, 300, 300, 300. Thanks to our heat race sponsors NAPA of Fremont, Helms Construction of Findlay, Hawk Brakes and ARP Fasteners, heat races will pay: 40, 30, 20, 10. Kear's Speed Shop, Diversified Machine (DMI) and All Star Performance will supply $50 bonus awards for the "hard charger", "hard luck" and "sweet move" awards.
