Fremont, Ohio (August 5, 2015) - The 2015 Fremont/Attica Sprint Title championships will be determined after one final weekend of racing action. The Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. organization will crown two champions at the conclusion of the upcoming weekend; closing another season of highly competitive “410” and “305” sprint car competition in northwestern Ohio.
“It’s hard to believe that the F.A.S.T. season wraps up on Saturday” said F.A.S.T. Series promoter Rich Farmer, “The championships have not yet been determined and that will make the upcoming weekend even more exciting. I want to thank all of the drivers and teams who committed to our entire schedule this season. I’m proud to say that we have some of the best local competition in the country, in both divisions, and that has been displayed every weekend. I want to also thank all of our sponsors and supporters for helping our series grow. We want to continue building stronger relationships with our sponsors. Our goal is to make the F.A.S.T. championship bigger and better each and every year.”
The Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title “410” Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service will host two final rounds of action this Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8. The tour will visit the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio on Friday night, followed by a trip back to the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio on Saturday evening. Byron Reed, the defending series champion and a one-time winner during F.A.S.T. action in 2015, will enter the weekend with a 48 point lead in the current championship standings. Reed will lead three-time winner in 2015 Cap Henry, followed by three, two-time winners including Craig Mintz, Dean Jacobs and Stuart Brubaker. In the event that Henry would sweep events at Attica and Fremont this Friday and Saturday, Reed would need to earn an average finish of at least 6th over the course of the entire weekend to secure the 2015 title worth $10,000.
Fremont’s Bobby Clark has sole command of the JLH General Contractors Fremont/Attica Sprint Title “305” Championship Series presented by Engine Pro point standings heading into the final weekend on August 7 and August 8. The two-time winner during F.A.S.T. “305’ Championship Series action in 2015 stands ahead of Alvin Roepke by a 51 point margin; followed by Jordan Ryan, Steve Rando and John Ivy. In a similar situation as the “410” championship chase, if Roepke were to sweep F.A.S.T. “305’ Championship Series action during the upcoming weekend, Bobby Clark would need to earn an average finish of at least 6th during both events to secure the $2,000 F.A.S.T. title. Clark has been the only repeat winner during F.A.S.T. “305” competition thus far in 2015.
F.A.S.T. “410” Championship Series rookie standout Tyler Gunn is the most recent Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title “410” Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service winner; capturing main event action at the Fremont Speedway on Saturday, August 1. Gunn took advantage of his pole position on Saturday night and earned a career-first “410” victory. Fellow “410” rookie T.J. Michael finished second, followed by Bryon Reed, Chris Andrews and Craig Mintz.
Cap Henry earned a series leading third F.A.S.T. “410” Championship Series main event victory on Friday night, July 31, at the Attica Raceway Park. Like Gunn, Henry took advantage of his pole position; holding off two-time F.A.S.T main event winner Dean Jacobs at the wire. Division rookie and recent F.A.S.T. winner Nate Dussel finished third at the Attica oval, followed by a tenth starting Byron Reed and former series champ Craig Mintz. Cap Henry is the only driver to sweep an entire F.A.S.T. weekend thus far in 2015; occurring back on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16.
Bobby Clark and Paul Weaver are the most recent F.A.S.T. “305” Championship Series winners in 2015; securing victories back on Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25. Clark earned main event high honors at Attica Raceway Park on Friday night, July 24. Paul Weaver earned his first win of the season the following evening, July 25, at Fremont Speedway.
“The entire F.A.S.T. staff is anxious to see how the weekend unfolds” said Rich Farmer, “There is a lot of prestige that goes along with winning a F.A.S.T. championship. Having the ability to be dominate at one race track is special, but having the ability to be dominate at two is more than impressive.”
There are 18 dates on the F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series schedule in 2015; stretching from mid-April until early August. The F.A.S.T. ‘305’ sprinters headline 11 events in 2015, which included their inaugural visit to Waynesfield Raceway Park back on Saturday, July 4th. The 2015 F.A.S.T. ‘410’ title will once again be worth $10,000 to the series champion. $2,000 will be awarded to the 2015 F.A.S.T. ‘305’ series champion.
