Series Update: Brubaker and Mintz Each Earn Second FAST Victory of Season

Fremont, OH (July 27th, 2015) - The 2015 Fremont/Attica Sprint Title Championship Series season continued during the recent weekend with back-to-back F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series and F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series programs at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway. By the time the checkers flew on Saturday night, three repeat F.A.S.T. main event winners were crowned, with one driver visiting F.A.S.T. victory lane for the first time in 2015.
“It has been a great year for a lot of our F.A.S.T. teams” said F.A.S.T. promoter Rich Farmer, “These guys work hard and they are very dedicated to the sport. The talent is rich is our area and the teams are constantly finding new ways to improve and make their programs faster. I’m excited to see what the last few weekends of our schedule brings.”
The Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service visited the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio on Friday night, July 24th. Stuart Brubaker, driver of the familiar Burmeister Racing #16, picked up the main event victory at ‘Ohio’s Finest Racing’ facility; his second consecutive F.A.S.T. main event win at Attica Raceway Park in 2015. Brubaker rallied from the outside of row five to pick up the series victory. He was followed by a ‘hard charging’ Byron Reed, who advanced ten positions during main event action, and Dean Jacobs.
Bobby Clark earned the JLH General Contractors F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series presented by Engine Pro main event victory on Friday night, July 24th at Attica. It was Clark’s second F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series victory of the 2015 season; the only repeat winner during ‘305’ competition this year. Clark improved three positions to secure his place in victory lane. Jordan Ryan and Paul Weaver would round out the evening’s podium finishers.
F.A.S.T. competition continued on Saturday evening, July 25th at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio. It was former Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service champion Craig Mintz making an appearance in victory lane. The F.A.S.T. win was number two for Mintz on the year and his second at ‘The Track That Action Built.’ Genzman Racing’s Cap Henry finished second at Fremont Speedway, followed by defending F.A.S.T. champion Byron Reed.
Paul Weaver earned dual honors on Saturday night during F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series competition; earning his first F.A.S.T. main event victory of the 2015 season, while also achieving ‘Hard Charger’ honors. Weaver advanced eight positions during the 25-lap program at Fremont Speedway after starting on the inside of row five. Alvin Roepke rolled home in the runner-up position after starting fourth on the grid. Attica winner Bobby Clark earned his second consecutive podium finish of the weekend with a third place performance.
The Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title ‘410’ Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service will move forward and prepare for another doubleheader weekend in northwestern Ohio this Friday and Saturday. The series will visit routine destinations during the upcoming weekend including the Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway. Attica will host Round 15 of the 2015 schedule on Friday evening, July 31st, with Round 16 hosted by Fremont Speedway on Saturday, August 1st. F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series competition will not resume until Friday, August 7th and Saturday, August 8th. The 2015 ‘305’ championship worth $2,000 will be determined on the August 7th/8th weekend.
Byron Reed will lead the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title ‘410’ Championship Series presented by KS Sales & Service into competition on July 31st & August 1st. The defending ‘champ’ has one victory thus far in 2015 during F.A.S.T. competition, and controls the standings by a 40 point margin. Reed is the only driver inside the top-five of the current standings with only one F.A.S.T. victory this season; using experience and consistency to hunt down the $10,000 title. Cap Henry, the only driver to ‘sweep’ a F.A.S.T. weekend thus far this season, sits second in the championship entering the upcoming weekend. Recent winner Craig Mintz will enter the Attica Raceway Park program on Friday, July 31st currently third in the championship chase. Two-time Attica Raceway Park F.A.S.T. winner Stuart Brubaker sits fourth, followed by opening night winner Dean Jacobs.
There are 18 dates on the F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series schedule in 2015; stretching from mid-April until early August. The F.A.S.T. ‘305’ sprinters headline 11 events in 2015, which included their inaugural visit to Waynesfield Raceway Park back on Saturday, July 4th. The 2015 F.A.S.T. ‘410’ title will once again be worth $10,000 to the series champion. $2,000 will be awarded to the 2015 F.A.S.T. ‘305’ series champion.
